Ever since her birthday, Hannah has been asking to have a party, and with summer approaching, she began asking for a summer party. We made a "summer bucket list" and this was at the top of our list. I printed out the tags, laminated them and attached magnet tape to the back, then wrote out the different activities...it was fun hearing the things that they want to do this summer!
Hannah cracks me up about parties, she wants to have a party for everything, I think her ideal job will be a party planner! Since I agreed that a summer party would be fun and it was at the top of our "summer bucket list", we invited over some friends, made some cupcakes and filled up the kiddie-pool. I used some of the decorations from Hannah's birthday along with a few fun summer-y things and called it good.
Hannah and David were very excited to have friends over, and of course excited to have cupcakes! I made the same tye-dyed cupcakes that I made for Hannah's birthday, but this time I remembered to take pictures!
This is what they look like before you bake (camera phone pic)
And after you bake them
I think these are so fun and the camera pics don't do them justice! I used this recipe and they are delicious and incredibly moist! (I obviously didn't layer the batter, but put it in the tins randomly for a tye-dyed effect)
The kids played on the swing-set and sprinklers but I loved how they all crowded into the little pool! ; ) My kids love going to the big pool and this was the first time we got the kiddie pool out this season and I think David was a little disappointed...until his friends came over, then it was the best ever! After a couple of hours outside we moved the party inside for a "picnic" lunch on the living room floor, then the kiddos played while the mamas got to talk. A little band formed and you know it's a good party when there's dancing on the tables!
They were so cute, and had so much fun! When it was time for everyone to go home, we sent our friends home with their very own "bucket list" kit.
The buckets are from Hobby Lobby and the adorable print-ables can be found here and here. We had so much fun and I think this may become a tradition!
What a great party!
