Another One Bites The Dust

The Rover went down hard and fast last night. It was a rough night, and this morning I took my little guy in to the pediatrician and bless his heart, he was a sickie. He has an ear infection in both ears, bronchitis and a wheezy cough that is just so pitiful. He had a breathing treatment at the doctor and I was dreading it, but David was a champ. He ended up falling asleep during the treatment- poor little guy could finally breathe and get some rest. He has an inhaler and an antibiotic and will hopefully get a good night's rest tonight and will be feeling better tomorrow. Hannah was supposed to start a little dance class tomorrow, but I don't think we're going to make it. :(

And trying to keep up with all the laundry, because I am changing sheets like it's going out of style!

 

Hannah has been hanging out on the sofa getting her fix of Noggin, and although the Rover is under the weather, he's never to sick to get into Daddy's game stuff! I turned my back for a minute to get their humidifiers filled up, and walked back in the room to this:

A Little Of This, A Little Of That

I have been having the hardest time finding the time to blog lately! We have so much going on, and then we have nothing. I love the fact that blogging is like a little scrapbook of our life, but man- lately it is full of holes! So in an attempt to fill in some of the holes we have a post that is my favorite go-to catch all, bullet points!

• We hosted a baby shower for some dear friends on Saturday, they are expecting a little girl in a couple of weeks and we are just so excited for them!

• I am busy planning David's first birthday- oh my goodness- can you believe that David is turing one?!! That is crazy and freaks me out!

• I am also busy planning Mike's birthday (they are back to back!)

• Poor little Hannah is sick- I am hoping that tomorrow we will be on the up-swing. Apparently there is a rule that someone in my house has to be sick, and I think that rule sucks.

• I have been baking a lot! One of my goals for this year is to bake/ cook from scratch more and so far I am loving it! I am on the look-out for cracker recipes so if you have a good one, let me know!

• I am in love with home made bread, it is so yummy and I don't think anything smells better!

• I am ready for spring! I am ready to be outside in the sunshine!

Okay, time to go fold clothes! Hopefully things won't be so sporadic and I can get some pictures up!

The Sweetest Thing

I think that sleeping babies are just about the sweetest thing ever! I haven't snapped too many of my little man, because he is a pretty light sleeper and I don't want to risk waking him up. (ha! the other Moms out there understand!) But I snapped these a couple of weeks ago and just think that David is so precious! 

Medical Mondays- A Different Perspective

When I was growing up anytime an ambulance would pass by, we took the time while pulled over to say a prayer for the person in the ambulance. The thought was, that if you were the one in the ambulance wouldn't you appreciate everyone praying for you on your way to the hospital? Well, now as an adult, as I pull my car over I still say a prayer for the person riding in the ambulance, but I also say a prayer for the EMT's and the doctors who will be treating the patient once they arrive at the hospital. 

I pray for Mike professionally, and I pray for the other doctors, nurses and staff that he works with, and I also pray for his patients (even though I don't know their names or anything about them- it's just a blanket prayer for the patients in my husband's care, God knows) and their families. 

Doctors are under a tremendous amount of pressure. They make life or death decisions throughout their day, and at the very least they make life altering decisions. Therefore I think it is important that we cover our husbands in prayer, and I feel that this extends out to their co-workers and patients. It's funny how before Mike was a doctor it never occurred to me to pray for doctors, nurses, etc. and now it seems so obvious. So I encourage you to say a quick prayer the next time you are pulling over for an ambulance or other emergency vehicle.

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."

Ephesians 6:18

 

Belated

So I had taken a little bloggy break for the holidays, and then the nasty hit me. Oh my gracious I was sick!! I think I have finally turned the page today and will hopefully be 100% in the next couple of days! In the mean time I thought I would share a few very belated Christmas pics.
