It's Friday and we are Fighting the Frump with Fussy! I don't know about you, but the one accessory that I absolutely cannot live without is sunglasses! For me this is a year- round necessity! I have incredibly sensitive eyes and can hardly keep my eyes open during daylight hours without them. (seriously- I keep a back-up pair in my car just in case I ever lose them) So not only are sunglasses functional, but they are fashionable as well. A good pair of sunglasses can really help transform your look, protect your eyes, and really go a long way to making you look polished. This is a great guide to help you find the right shape for your face- but I still recommend trying on various styles. Sometime the right shape may be an inappropriate size so it is always best to try before you buy. Also make sure that they fit- as in they do not slide off your face or pinch behind your ears (ouch!).
Also make sure that your sunglasses offer UV protection. This is an excellent article on the importance of protecting your eyes. So whether you choose classic aviators, dramatic Jackie O glasses or anything in between- make sure they offer protection so you can look great and keep your eyes healthy!
Sunglasses are an affordable way to add some polish to your look. (if you look at celebrity pics they are nearly always wearing them). TJ Max, Stein Mart, and Marshall's all carry great designer sunglasses at a fraction of the suggested retail price. So no matter how much you decide to spend- fight the frump with a great pair of shades!
Thanks to Mrs. Fussypants for hosting, head over to check out other frump fighting ideas, or post one of your own!

Sunglasses are so essential. If your not wearing them you squint. Spuint equals wrinkles. We dont want that.

I LOVE wearing sunglasses. I bought the cutest pair last summer on vacation - got them to the car (in the cutsie little bag) and never saw them again (they must have gotten thrown out??? at some point???) UGH! So, I've been kinda p*ssy about looking for new ones again but I know it's TIME!
Thanks for the reminder.

I noticed small lines around my eyes the other day - I think I should have been wearing sunglasses more regularly. Great post! Thanks for the reminder!

I love sunglasses too. I even have prescription sunglasses that are a little behind prescription-wise, and (probably) getting a little behind fashion-wise, but I love them. They kinda give everything a rosy tint, and their photo-polarizing, or whatever it is that really refracts the glare. MMM.
I want check out that guide to the right shape, but I'm afraid I'll find out I've been wearing the wrong shape all these years!

if you wear regular glasses, get some prescription ones, even walmart can do them for under $100, and you know those designer ones cost MUCH more.

Thanks for the helpful guide! I'll have to be on the lookout for some great discount sunglasses. I hate to spend too much money on them, as I always lose them or scratch them, but you're right, a good pair looks great!

Ohhh I just a good pair of sunglasses but not as much as my daughter does. We always buy the sunglasses that matches the outfits from Gymboree. lol
I do need a pair for me though. My monkey recently broke my fav pair and I haven't had time to find some to replace them. I have a small face so it's really hard for me.
I think I'm gonna go out and buy some this weekend. Thanks!

I found some ones that I truly love at Fossil. They were a bit more then I usually spend, but because I am in love with them I take better care of them and won't have to replace them as often!

I love sunglasses. I've had good luck with designer brands and styles at places like TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshalls. I got my last pair for $10!

Ah, sunglasses! I have just recently, in the last six months or so, developed a *love* of sunglasses. I have two identical pair that probably aren't the 'right style' for my face, but alas, they keep me from squinting, I think they are adorable and that's what counts!
By the way I just 'found' your blog through Mrs Fussypants, who I found through Blissfully Domestic (but I'm not sure that's relevant). I've enjoyed what I've read so far and look forward to reading some more.
